talk about just in time...we only just made up the nesting boxes last night with extra straw/hay and put the golf balls in. I cant believe how excited i am about a bloody chicken egg!

But hey that just means my eggs are coming soon. I got my girls the 3rd of May so I guess yours are about a week older than mine.

So all the breeds you have lay brown eggs? No way of knowing who laid first.

trisha i think that the race is still on...im pretty sure the red sex link that i rescued from the shelter/vet laid this egg. I have birds that will lay white/brown/pink and blue/green eggs but the only ones that have the developed combs/red combs that would lay brown eggs i think are the sexlinks. So it would appear this egg is NOT from one of my original chicks from late April...meaning the bet is still alive and well...

Edited: It's a tea light candle holder. He's got lil holes all over him and the light shines through. It's very pretty in the dark.
