The hockey rink was very soft tonight
I think Koala the other EE might be molting. There are some primary looking feathers in the coop in here color. They are 10 1/2 months old.
 
So many eggs broken Not sure why But i did find my dog eating a quail egg today ,,,,,
uh oh! Hope you have a way to keep the dog out? We are expecting 45 degrees today after a low of 25 last night. Don't know what our total will be but we will have at least one. We heard the egg song from someone while we were waitn on the bus.

Ok, here are my stats for December 2012 & January 2013. I have 2 Easter Egger hens and 2 Jersey Giant hens. The temps are in celsius (I believe once the temp is below 0 degrees, it is the same as farenheit. Looking at my stats, I am wondering why I thought having JG's was a good idea! I appologize in advance for all the data I hope all of you great people don't roll your eyes!! I also included some snowy pictures just to give you an idea of our conditions (we have drifts of 6 feet in some spots).

Quote: Yes she can not get to the Chicken eggs but the Quail have a slide we are making them a pen using rabbit wire and it will be 6 x12 for the quail . but the chickens where the broken eggs this am i found the Villian. a Small wild Rabit using the nest box that the hens use at night to rest she scared me running out of the hen house . so from now on I open and close the door . i am leaving some Hay out for her in a nice warm area by the house she will be safe even from our dog,

I do not know if you would be interested but there are Clear Plastic tarps on Ebay thay hold up awesome and do keep some heat in . Tammy
