It was raining and 47 last night and the day time high today was 63. I broke my record and got ten from fourteen hens.

We were 65 and BEAUTIFUL today. A little windy but I won't complain. We had 11/17

Temps are supposed to drop on Tuesday and the possibility of snow or at least lousy weather. We'll see what the girls have to say about it.

Hey everyone! Just checking in.. My chickens are finally starting to lay, my first experience with them. Only had them two weeks and 6 are laying already! Yea my bantams were first to lay, they are so tiny! And my buff Orpington is laying, leghorn and wyndottes! Guess I'm doing something right! Have a great day!

Hope you got all your pipe problems fixed before the next cold blast.We are supposed to have yucky weather tommorrow with the chance of snow late. We will also be dropping to 20's at night low 40's in the day. I am hopeing there is enough sunshine today to dry out the run from this weekends rain.

over two feet of snow and temps. down to about 20 f and got 12 eggs out of a flock of 12.

Yes I'm really glad about the eggs, and they do taste so much better!

We got that winter storm here. Dumped 12 inches on us but we weren't here for it. We actually went farther North to Lake George for a winter getaway, they had less snow then us. My son did come and take care of the girls though.
On Friday during the storm they laid 8 eggs and on Saturday when the temps were about 0 and the wind was crazy they laid 6. On Sunday we were back home. Temps were right around 17-20 and we got 7 eggs.
Had another yucky morning with snow sleet and rain, no school, and so far I've gotten 6 eggs but I can hear one of the buffs singing as I type. Temperature right now is 34
Spring is right around the corner!

I now get 2 eggs everyday, sometimes 3 from 3 laying hens. So I'm much happier than when I was getting only one egg...
I also have 4 pullets that should be getting ready to lay! I can't wait. We've been having some pretty warmish weather here as well.
