Yeah, for some reason it finally clicked that I need to try quail raising.
Eggs in about 8 weeks
Tiny eggs at 8 weeks is better
than no eggs for 20 weeks
(chicken).
Ready for butchering in 8 weeks
Again, a chicken is about 16-20
Tiny birds mean I can break their
neck easier, and inside.
A new experience

I hope to like the meat. I’m not crazy about dark meat, but with enough hot sauce or bbq sauce, it should be fine.
Igorsmistress (whom made the light turn on) even mentioned a southwestern quail stew that she likes quail better in.
Assuming I like it, I am hoping that processing them is more doable for me than roosters. I can’t explain it, but I just have not done a rooster alone yet.
 
I was curious about the scissors. I want to break their neck the first time, and then use scissors when it’s dead. The video made me question the ease of using the scissors. I also wasn’t sure what scissors to use. I ofcourse have the kitchen scissors from my butcher block.
