OOOOOOO just think if you throw them all in the same pen what funky chickens you'd hatch out!!!!!! The O'Shamos honestly would likey kill most of the others after a bit!!! My friend has a O'Shamo roo..... he's cool- but not my thing. I love Seramas though..... the tiny mottled funky mixed up color ones...... and speckled Sussex, EE's splash/blue americanas, plus could use a maran, Barnvelder, & Olive egger for fun eggs.......
I'm good with the Polish right now (and my 2 little Millie Fluer D'Unccles- hoping both are hens- just want them as pets) I have to get the new barn set up for the Polish pens I want. Plus next year I will get a all hen egg pen w/ several breeds that lay differant egg colors. Maybe a EE roo would be fun in that pen........ nah.
As far as the frizzle gene goes- I think of it like the broken gene in rabbits (rabbit genetics I know fron & back- chicken ones..... not yet) For the proper broken pattern you want Enen (1 solid, 1 broken gene) if you get a double solid set- you get a solid rabbit, if you get a double broken set- you get charlie marked. If you breed a charlie to a solid- you get 100% brokens. 2 brokens bred together -are suppose to- give you 50% broken, 25% solid & 25% charlie. In reality- you may get only solids & charlies though if you breed 2 brokens- yes I've had that happen..... more than once.
Anyway.... you have two...... if something would happen to one of them- you'd be set back in your project. If you only have one and after 2 breeding seasons you lost it now..... you'd have pretty birds- but not back to "Tolbunt" true colors from the Gold Lace crosses. Let the breeding happen unless you can get a few others before that.
