He's very handsome. I love him. And his mom as a chick is the cutest little thing!

I happened to come across a European (?) site last night on my phone, and there was a thread on "Recipe for Tolbunts", but I couldn't get in without membership.

I'll have to find it and sign up, LOL.

Sharon, I have a 12 +/-. The little chick was my first one. I bought a doz eggs, one hatch, bought another doz eggs, one hatched, but DH accidentally let it loose. So the first year or so I was scrambling around trying to find additional stock.
I have learned that these birds are a project and when you buy chicks or eggs, your more than likely buying someone's project...meaning your going to get chicks that may or may not have the correct coloring, top notches, etc.
This has been quite an expensive endevor for me, but those cute little chicks keep me coming back for more.
As for any further insight, I will defer to someone more knowable than myself.

Very pretty! How many do you have? How long have you had them? Any interesting insights on raising them? (If you don't mind my asking).

My first birds were polish and I love their quirks. When I saw the tolbunt I was entranced. I love the coloring! My polishes I picked out were the ones with white spots in their feathering so the tolbunt was right up my alley. Naturally I pick something rare...I have always gravitated to the expensive! Best of luck with your's and keep us in pics!

There's been a website before showing the "recipe for Tolbunt" - And it was a misleading recipe for the Speckled Sussex color.

You've seen my Houdan x GL before. This is the male; he was shown just before the old Polish thread got locked. These are pics from around when I first got him, he was quite a hunk for such a young bird.

Black girl in the middle/right of the photo. Her tail isn't normally that pinched looking, but it isn't super. She normally has a VERY full crest but I dramatically clipped it back. She free ranges with everyone else and I'd hate to lose her to a hawk.
