Told DH I was practicing voodoo.

After 25 yrs, my DH no longer asks. I guess he feels strongly that "ignorance is bliss".

This thread made me laugh out loud! The husband thinking I am a little "off", the crazy sister... are we all related!? Since I was a teenager I always wanted a shirt I saw that read... I havn't been the same since that house fell on my sister!

eggzettra I saw your post on the other thread! I thought it was hillarious!

please forgive my ignorance but "smudge" means what exactly?

and what does crossed pins and horseshoes do?

thanks

ps i am not sure but are we talking about my sister? 'cause man... she is a witch that is just waiting for a house to fall on her!

Well I am not sure what they mean by smudging, but in my house smudging involved burning sage in a small crock and walking through each room of the house to cleanse it.

I know longer practice that, as I changed my beliefs. I know pray over my entire house for cleansing and protection. It really depends on a persons beliefs.

I still enjoy the smell of sage burning. My husband does not.

thank you for explaining that.
i dont think i have ever smelled burning sage.
hmmmm something new to try.

my dh is kinda like the one mentioned b4, nothing i do seems to really shock him, he just shrugs. like before i told him that his foot hurt cause i was using the voodoo doll on him, just jerking him around. he just shrugs.

So - practicing voodoo is considered weird?

and btw - burning a sage smudge smells just like ghetto weed

so if the inlaws are coming over, it is best to wait until they leave - or ya might get more questions than you want to answer

Peace -
Meri (whose husband never asks anymore what that strange smell is, or why there are glasses of alcohol and cigars on the tables in my "sewing room")

LOL I've been wanting one of those - seen em on ebay. Those are cute -Did you know that they also have knife holders like that?

ETA - a year ago I moved to an area of the country that is not - shall we say - religiously diverse. My house looks like Haiti blew up in here (along with a ton of rooster statues added in - it's sort of a mix between Voodoo and Country style, LOL) I definately had to tone down the decor for the benefit of the neighbors - got to keep the peace, ya know. I love my neighbors, and I would never want to offend them, even in my own home - hospitality is a pretty big thing with me, usually.

Peace -
Meri
