My Mom lost her patio tomatoes to ME!!! bwahahaha! She'll get more soon though I'm sure. I'm an hour up from her and have to wait a week or two longer than her due to the climate changes... she's in the valley I'm in the mountains.

Growing up in New York City, in an all italian neighborhood, I remember summers of my friends and I jumping from garden to garden and eating tomatoes just like apples out of everyone's yards.

People had 15x15 yards filled to the brim with tomato, zucchini, summer squash, grapes, fig trees and the tomato plants all had oregano, basil and parsley growing at their bases.

Nobody cared because there were enough tomatoes growing in that neighborhood to sink an aircraft carrier.
