Tomato seedlings

I too have question about feeding the young tomato plant, I would think feeding the roots and the growing stems is the first goal, then supporting flowering and fruit growth. I'm just not sure how to do this. Perhaps it is the 20-10-10 kind of fertilizer.

Potting has been recomeended to me for tomatos but I do wonder about the root system-- are they like trees in which the roots revlect the volume of the branches??

Perhaps it is important to prune tomatos heavily or as needed to fit the capability of the roots.
 
Epsom salt. If you want to see your tomatoes and peppers take off running, give them each about a tablespoon of epsom salt in the soil, or you can mix some in a 1 qt spray bottle and do a foliar feed every week or 2. You'll see an immediate greening of the leaves.
