Tomatoes-

In fact, you better keep them away from the tomatoes if you want any! Once the cluckers discover them, it's all over.

SO yeah, they can eat them and you only need to chop them if you like it that way. Otherwise, cut em in half and tie em up off the ground for the birds to peck at.

I sliced a tomato up for my lunch. Mmmm love tomato sandwiches. The ends I cut off and threw out the kitchen door. First two chickens to the door got them and the others chased them around.

I don't even have to cut them, I toss them the buggy ones from the garden, they pick them apart, leave any bad places, eat the seeds first.

I throw them a bunch evryday during garden season, they ripp into them whole, I slice up cuccumbers/squash/evrything from the garden that is not good enough for the table.

My bluebelle has to take daily prescribed calcium supplement powder, and she has it served to her on two halves of a cherry tomato - it is by far and away her favourite food! She flies up at me in the mornings to get at it!

Our buff orp will also gobble up tomatoes whenever she can get her beak on them, but they must be chopped up into small beak-sized pieces - she's very particular about eating 'big' food!

I imagine tomatoes are rather good for chickens, as we all know there are plenty of antioxidants in them. (Personally, I can't stand them though!)
