Welcome to Penn's Woods. This is a beautiful time of year to be house hunting in PA although you might want to bring a rain coat as they are predicting rain off and on everyday until Thursday.
Good luck! I hope you find something fabulous for the two of you. Another thing to remember, they talk faster up there than in the south, lol. So listen faster.
Detroit is mind-blowing!!!! So fast paced!!!!!! Didn't even see the runway until we were about 300 feet from the ground! Everyone is looking at us weird because we said thank you for stuff. Definitely don't belong here!! Yep! We've brought rain coats and umbrellas.
don't know if it will help much but I do loads of searches on realstate. this one site has some nice options like being able to search by county and lot size. makes it easy to narrow down a few nice places. http://www.landwatch.com/United_States_land_for_sale
This area is gorgeous! Not what I expected of the northeast at all! Apparently I'm the talk of the Walmart...the other csm's had apparently been talking about me for a few weeks wondering what I looked like, if I was mean, etc!
So...today marks the first day of house/apartment/townhouse/duplex hunting!!! Wish us luck!
You never realize how much tastes can change until you are older. Some of these places I would have thought "these are awesome!" when I was a Freshman in college. Now I look at them and just cringe.
We looked at some cute homes. One had huge rooms. Issues were that it was downwind from a horse farm, the basement was awful (and there was something alive in it) and.....it was next door to a cemetery. Normal people would think nothing of it, but for those of us preparing for the zombie apocalypse, NOT where I want to be. When I tried to explain why I didn't like it, she couldn't understand why I wasn't ok with the cemetery, I blurted out "zombies!" and she laughed so hard she cried.
