Too Early for Feb Hatch-A-Long Thread??

My husband insists he doesn't like chickens but he likes to watch when they're hatching and I always catch him hanging out with the chicks in the brooder, lol. He also built them a fort knox chicken run that I wouldn't be able to get into if it didn't have a handle.
My husband will walk around with my chickens on his shoulders It's so funny. One of my ducks really likes him and she follows him everywhere.

That's why I haven't added any water at all in my bator because it just seems to work. If I saw issues and not amazing results I'd change my tune.

I'm sure if somebody else tried what I'm doing it would be a complete fail for them.

When I do eggs from others they always ask me what I did to get such a good hatch rate and when I tell them their jaws drop 😂
What region are you in? I've heard that dry hatching success rates vary a lot depending what the local air humidity is.

Yeah, humidity seems to be across the board depending on where you keep the incubator, what incubator you're using, what altitude you're at, how porous your eggs are, etc. The more you hatch the closer you come to your incubators sweet spot and then I just monitor the air cell once they're set to see if the humidity needs to be altered.

That's what I say about any that end up having poopy butt's. It's got to be a cockerel, and I seem to be right about that. I don't know why it happen's to be like that.
Oh no! We are battling with poopy butts on all 4 of our little wheaten ameraucanas that just hatched. 😂 More roosters is the last thing I need. (They are super cuddly so I am expecting little cockerels)

The best thing to deal with poopy butts is to put ACV with the mother into their water. It's a tablespoon per gallon of water.

It stops them from getting that. I have never had a chick with a poopy butt using ACV
