Too Early for Feb Hatch-A-Long Thread??

A couple of guesses from me. I can't see them all well enough to give my opinion but I've only hatched a few of these breeds.

Spot on with the silver double laced barnevelder. The one in the chick chair is the other barnevelder. The yellow chick is a cream Legbar. The one just below the barnevelder is the other Legbar. I’m thinking the one all the way to the right is a golden spitzhauben.

How does one get the hard, dried, crusted goop off of a chick in the incubator? It’s tiny wing is stuck to its body. Eye lid is stuck closed on one side.

You may need to use a little warm water when you get the baby out of the incubator and then blow dry it. If it's a little piece of dried membrane you may be able to use a little Vaseline on it and wait for it to become more pliable again so you can take it off. Just be careful about pulling on anything because their little fluff comes off easily. When I first tried using coconut oil in an assist I didn't realize the coconut oil hardens the membrane if left without reapplication long enough, the Vaseline worked well for that.

Maybe a warm washcloth and gently rub. I've never had that issue.

Haven’t seen anything like this yet. Two look just fine, one is crusted together. Will wait it out and see what happens. Need to get the others in there for lock down. 23 more to hatch in the next three days! Round 2 without power...

Very good to know! Have a jar of coconut oil sitting next to the incubator for helping the others out that were shrink wrapped.
