View attachment 2021284I was impressed the marans eggs seem to have handled the shipping the best out of these 3 breeds.i have one legbar growing still but 11 marans and 7 turkey! Honestly as long as something hatches I will be happy. I know that the eggs that failed to develop and the early quitters were due to shipping.View attachment 2021289these are the eggs we moved into lockdown last night.
My DD's had a tough choice to make they had a whole counter filled with eggs from this past week that they were hoping to put into the incubator, but there was only room to add 22 new ones. so I did what any fair parent would, Each girl got to fill 11 spaces with the eggs of their choice!
The youngest one chose mostly eggs from her black Necked neck pen and the older girl put in all pekin duck eggs for her fair project. Now dont get me wrong there are probably 120 eggs in incubation and the majority of them will be for one girls project or the other girls. I do hope that soon I will get to choose a few more for what I want to see. We should start seeing ducks this upcoming Wednesday with the hatch at the school, in the FFA class. My older girl I'd part of the class so she talked me into donating eggs for the class project. Naturally we took some turkey and duck as well as some marans and light brahma from some local folks I know. Ob and a few odd balls from our flock.
That is such an exciting hatch!! Both the shipped eggs and all of the eggs you're setting for your girls! I look forward to your updates!
