Too Early for Feb Hatch-A-Long Thread??

Just got a text and 37 duck eggs should be ready for me on Thursday

So 2 days ago I crack an egg while candle it its not too bad of a crack the membrane is intact I read and it said to tape it, I taped it with clear boxing tape

I'm not sure if that's okay but I candle it today and it has grow and its moving

The crack is around the air pocket so I'm guessing I have to take it off on day 18 or 19 when I move then to the hatcher
But I'm worried it will peel off the shell can I get some advice

I used zoya brand nail polish
The picture on the bottom the light spots are spot I couldn't salvage all of the shell
