Too Early for Feb Hatch-A-Long Thread??

I know I'm about ready to pull my hair out lol. I put them in late afternoon early evening on the 22nd so they may not hatch until later tonight.

well our hatch was due the 10th when I left this morning there were 2 that still looked iffy?? so don't get too excited yet

They'll probably hatch after midnight that's what mine do. They hatch while I'm sleeping

My pipped egg is rocking around. I don't hear peeps though. Are muscovy ducklings quiet like the adults? My drake is funny. He walks over to me and opens his bill like he's yelling at me, but only a whisper comes out.

I can't get a good angle so I can show you but the egg that is second down from the top has an external pip in it. I bet that's the one that I was hearing last night. There wasn't an external pip this morning when I left around 5 am but the egg has been rocking and rolling all over. Hoping he hasn't been working on it too long and can get out okay. The others aren't showing anything yet but usually for me at least there is one that starts it off and then the others get excited by that one and start moving.

I'm fairly new to this, so sorry if this is a silly question, but what are the rings on the eggs tracking?

When I first start incubating I circle where the air cell is and on one egg from each batch I will keep making it bigger as the air cell gets bigger. That way I know if the air cell is on track or needs to evaporate more. So I know where the humidity should be. This hatch it wasn't quite where I wanted it to be so I ran without raising the humidity until last night when I started hearing peeping. If it was a big air cell I would use higher humidity earlier to keep it from losing more.

You're babies are gorgeous. We finally have our first pip hopefully by later tonight we will have a baby too!! It was on the back side of the egg so I couldn't see it on the camera until I came home and used the flashlight.

Muscovy ducklings make no noise. Mine never made any noise at all. It was the best animal to raise
