So, I have three Holland Whites and two Bourbon Reds. They are all 28 weeks. One Holland White is a tom, and a big boy...so I'm thinking about sending him off to freezer camp. I'd like the hens to get a bit bigger before they go to freezer camp, but I'm worried they will get "tough" if I wait too much longer.

Turkey experts...tell me what to do. Please.

No there are just entering the window most butcher Heritage turkeys. Usually 28 to 32 weeks is the window where the feed to weight ration is not to expensive. You can wait for longer but the feed cost gets to be more then it's worth.

Yes if you wait till closer to the holidays that will be just fine it will not hurt the meat. It will just hurt your wallet as they will not gain weight very fast like you are use to now, as it will take alot more food per day to get the 1lb of gained weight.
