This is why we got our Anatolian Shepherd, but so far he is more interested in joining forces with the predators side. We just need some more training. I just have to get him to stop licking his lips every time he sees the birds.

Another thing to think about it perhaps a rooster? I have never had one so don't take my word as gospel, but I have heard from other bycers that they will help protect the flock while free-ranging (They will look out for birds of prey, and fight off other predators).

I have a roo- but he is a small bantum. He does watch out for the girls and was the first to run up to me and tell me something happened when I came outside the other day after the hawk attack. And his predecessor, Grover, put himself up for grabs when the fox came last year. I agree roos are great protectors.
