Too old to trick-or-treat?

I love it and totally agree! I think it's fine to dress up, but teens don't need to be going door to door. I have 3 teens and they won't be trick-or-treating alongside their 2 younger siblings. They are totally fine with it too!

BTW, that's one tall 11 year old you have there! Mine will be 12 next month and is only 4' 9"!

I'm 32 and still go. I just use the excuse that I HAVE to take the kids.

But I'd go out even though it wouldn't be to get candy.(If we had the money

I was always taller than the ones giving out the candy...

I only got to go trick or treating once.....so darn tooting I still do it!

About five years ago, moved into a new home, I decided to give out candies at the door.

To my dismay, there were many more teenagers with no costume than little kids getting candies. Worse was the teenagers, they would literally, yes, literally take a two handful of candies rather than a few pieces I doled out for each kid's bucket. Two older kids grabbed my candy bucket, shoved a few handfuls until it was almost empty. I was MAD! I dumped the candy at the last kid and turned off the light. It was the LAST time I will hand out candies for the kids! So teenagers do not need to go trick or treating, sure if they dress up, I would give them some candy too! I do not need to have a teenager manhandle the bucket of candy and they had no respect for other kids too with "give me this, give me that" when the small kids got some candy in their buckets.

I take my DD to the mall and zoo which they do trick or treats and safer there too! No candy bucket hungry teenagers either!

IMO... if someone takes the time to dress up and I'm not talking through on some clothes and say I'm a high school student... then they deserve the candy.

I don't trick or treat anymore but I usually walk with my relatives as the younger ones go out. For us, Halloween and trick or treating is a family event. We all go to my grandparents and the kids go out. We've done that every year since I was old enough to go. I'm 21 now, so I just have fun watching the little kids and then my DF and I usually have a Halloween to attend to.

I am high-school age, and still go trick-or-treating

Teenagers have more original and elaborate costumes in my opinion. I go trick-or-treating for Unicef but I still usually get candy from some people

That's how the old folks in this town I live in feel. You are never to old for Trick or Treating. In my old town I gave candy to the adults as well as small children, and teenagers.

Im sorry to have to say this but...

NO ONE IS TOO OLD TO GO TRICK OR TREATING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HAHAHAHAH!
Thank god I got kids, I love going trick or treating

Anyone who comes to my door not in costume either gets no treat or just one tiny piece of candy and sent on their way. Treats are for those who take the time to dress and really enjoy the spirit of the holiday.

Personally, I felt too old when I turned 13. To me that is the official cut-off date. At that point, it's time to plan other kinds of celebrations and other ways to enjoy the holiday.

Now, this whole going to a house three times because of a hot babe giving out candy has me thinking...wonder if I can get away with Trick or Treating at a house because the guy giving out candy is hot???!!! lol Maybe if I go back enough times I'll get a phone number! lol
