Top beak of my rooster fell off.

It’s day 2 after his beak was glued on and he doesn’t want to eat. He loves yogurt and won’t even get near it. He had no poop in his cage. I’m starting to really worry now. Should I start feeding him with a syringe? Is he in a lot of pain?
You can drip a little water beside his beak to see if he will take it in.
He might be feeling a bit of pain.

Well I have great news to report! It’s day 5 of beak reattachment and he’s eating back to normal! The beak remains attached. This vet did an amazing job! I’m very blessed that my baby has been saved. My only concern is that for the past 2.5 months he tires easily at night. When I would come home between 6-7 PM he would want me to take him out of his cage and he wound hang out with me. Now he just wants to rest . He’s 2.5 years old now, is that a factor? Should I be concerned? Is the normal aging process?

So glad to read about your wonderful vet and how much you care about your boy! We once had a horse that jumped over a fence and tore her chest open on a metal fence post, but we were blessed to get the quick help of a vet who was truly the calm in the storm and got her fixed up. Glad to hear your boy's eating is back to normal! It looks like your scary adventure is trending to a happy ending!

Glad to hear he is eating!

Tiring out is concerning. How is he housed? Does he have a run that he is in during the day? (photos?)
Check him over really well - any lice/mites, what does the poop look like, crop empty first thing in the morning before eating/drinking.
Is he molting?
What type of food/treats do you feed?

He may be under-stimulated, take his crate out to the coop and see if he perks up.

What about the other male bird?
We know nothing about your experience, chicken housing, or flock goals.
But 2 males is rarely a good idea, for a few reasons and one you've already experienced.

Tho take care with temperature differentials, if it's very warm in your house and very cold outside that would be detrimentally stressful.

I already asked this....but....
Where in this world are you located?
Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, (laptop version shown), then it's always there!
