Topic of the Week - What do you do with all those eggs?

Pics
Wow! How many chickens do you have? If it's more than a dozen, why are you getting such a little amount? I tend to about 40 chickens and get anywhere from a dozen to a little over 2 dozen eggs per day.
i have 8 15 week old chickens that arent ready to lay yet and 8 chickens from 3 to 4 1/2 years old that im getting 3-5 eggs a day. 3 ducks that give me about 18 eggs a week.

So many people want them so we could never have too many....the number of visitors we have at the house has multiplied and somehow they all just happen to have extra egg cartons in their car!

Haha, same here. Even my Grandma always brings an extra carton!

I am currently completely overrun with eggs. We cannot eat anymore. Most get cracked a splatted and fed back to the birds immediately, chicken, ducks and turkeys all fight over them, some get scrambled and fed back to the birds. People now run from me and my eggs. I must be the only person who wishes their hens didn't lay so much.

Relax. You're not. I actually hope a couple of mine go broody. I don't have aRroo anymore so the eggs won't be fertile, but at least those two will be offline for a while!

Eat them, sell, and reuse back into the flock for extra protein and calcium. Shells get roasted and ground into powder for my reptiles and as a sneaky calcium for the hens, chickens, guineas, turkeys and ducks. When my nieces dog is here i mix eggs in her dry food,my fiance loves pickled beat eggs, i bake a ton. Not enough hens for gifting yet but this fall or next spring there will be.

For the standard eggs, eat them of course! Any extras (I'm sure we'll have tons with 6 new pullets now) I give away to friends and family. Our bantam hens produce wonderfu little bitty eggs that are perfect for adding raw to dog kibble! A healthy treat for the dogs and it's like they're just the perfect little dog-portioned eggs! With 5 dogs and 2 banties, the little ladies produce just enough for them each to have an egg once or twice a week!

We're getting around 5-7 a day. Between the ones we keep to eat, my brother-in-law selling them at his work and people on our kickball team buying them, they go quick. BIL can sell three or four dozen in an hour.
