Topic of the Week - What is the purpose of your flock?

Pics
We all keep chickens for our reasons, whether it's eggs, exhibition, or just pets with benefits. This week, out of curiosity, I'd like to hear what your flock's main purpose is for you? I.e. why do you keep chickens?

Egg-laying?
Exhibition?
Dual purpose (meat and eggs)?
Lawn ornaments/pets?
Other?

I have always described my girls as "pets that poop breakfast". They all have names and are definitely NOT for eating.

Well ya see....
I've struggled with the dreaded "d" word my entire life. ( d e p r e s s i o n ) I absolutely abhor the word...much less living with it!!!
I had a huge "wakeup call" in April 2021 from not dieing from covid - I decided it was time to LIVE since God must not be done with me yet!
What began as a mother's day gift from my 3 adult kids has quickly become an amazing adventure and therapy!
So they got me 1 Polish and 3 Silkies dirt cheap...and I thought it would continue to be cheap. 🤭
Let's not even talk bout all the $ n babies a year later!!!

I got 4 chickens back in 2015, I started it just for a fun hobby, but now I'm getting enough eggs for my family, they are my pets, and they kill bugs! I don't raise them for meat, I just can't do that. I have shown my chickens at the fair a couple times, and I'm also hoping someday I can get into breeding chickens to sell!
