Several of my girls' combs are white on the very tops, crusty and the skin is very dry and eventually peels of to reveal very smooth red comb underneath. At first I though it was dried egg white as one of the eggs broke in the coop and then all got very messy with eating it. But it has continued for about a week or two.
No one appears sick - on the contrary, everyone is free ranging 12 hours a day, laying every day and appears very happy.
Any ideas?
