total cake disaster!!!!!!!!!

As a parent I know that I would joyfully eat every bite of that cake. I'm sure she will appreciate the effort and find the double baking incident humerous.

MJ. i ended up using the powdered sugar idea. ur right it does look a LOT better! thanks!

Kesta, you are so welcome. powdered sugar hides a multitude of baking sins! and no matter what, it's like Opa said, you made it and that is what is important. you cared and spent your time. as a Mom, that is what means so much to me. i'd be proud to eat a melty cake any day!

I'm the rotten sister sometimes and I would have said,"Mom I made you a beautiful cake but your other daughter was jealous and ruined it, she put in the oven and turned it back on so her dinner looked better."

Oh boy... I'm sure your mom's b-day is over and whatever you did or tried to do she loved! I know I would have ... even with molten frosting. I did laugh pretty hard at some of these posts though... Happy B-Day mom

UNHELPFUL ADVICE:
Can you take a picture and submit it to cakewrecks.blogspot.com?

That's what I thought this thread was about before I read through it lol.

I hope your cake turns out okay, would refridgerating it, help the icing to thicken?
