Totally noob chicken farmer wanna be NEEDS HELP with coop design

I agree with OKChickens on the shed. Could you post pics of the shed? Is it in the spot you want to house the chickens? Can it be moved if needed? You still need a run so that you can confine them to their area and I strongly recommend a covered run.

will take pictures of the shed so that people can chime in if it's worth fixing it and changing it to a coop

and this should be the run area just outside the shed... or if I do not use the shed then this is where the coop would be built

didn't have the tape measure handy but the I'm 6.1 and at the highest point of the roof it's about the same as me, if I had to guess it 4 feet wide and 6 feet long... what you think guys? is it doable? of course I need a few repairs to the roof and mainly the floor as it has rained in it for long time, windows might need to be replaced, big door fixed, small door cut from the side?

I think that would make a great coop! The inside needs to b empty and you need to check for rotten wood, but WOW! I would see if it could be jacked up and set on blocks so that the chickens can walk underneath. It is a good place for the hens to shelter from rain and sun and they keep snakes and rodents from nesting there. Replace the rotted or damaged wood, take the necessary steps to lock out preditors, build a run, and you're ready. That little shed will be cuter than anything else you can build on a shoestring. I still strongly suggest an attached, covered run. It could be the width of the shed (6') and be 10' long. That's perfect for your six girls. I would shoot for a 6x16 run though because of the material sizes, it wouldn't be alot more. The biggest expense will be the hardware cloth or welded wire to put on the run and windows.
