Toulouse Geese Thread

I have run out of Bragg's ACV. Can I use the regular ACV for my goose until I can get more. I put a bucket of water out for the goose to make sure he has water deep enough at all times. Those darn ducks splash all of the water out of everything by the time I get home from work.

Of course. and you may want to look on the Vita Cost web site I buy my Braggs from them about 2.00 cheaper than the grocery store,. Hows is your gander doing any improvement?

Ugh. So the goose seems OK. Fixed him up some more water and ACV. Went in to check on my chicks, approx. 3 weeks old and someone has bloody poo. Should I go get corid assuming its cocci and treat them all? They just went outside for the first time this past weekend. After it rained. And let me just say that was not my idea because I didn't think it would be OK. Men!!! Lol

If they have bloody poo then they need to be treated but I am not sure which is best corid or sulmet you may have to research that, and after they have been treated start them all on ACV in their drinking water daily. Any ti me you brood chicks start them off early with sod, grass and dirt sod and let them peck and scratch in it daily it will help build up their immune systems for when they go out side. Do you use medicated feed with your chicks? I don't but seems I remember something about using corid if your using med feed, I'll see if I can find the info.

I don't use the medicated feed. I did originally with my first batch of chicks but after a lot of reading I stopped using it. The vote to not put them outside was 2/1. Of course the 2 of us lost the vote and now this happens. It has not been a good weekend. Thanks for all of hour help :)
Oops, your help

okay checked and this is the dosage 1 tea to 1 gal. of dried corid 20% can get it at TSC, 5 days of treatment then give probiotics for 2 days then start back on vitamins or what ever you use. Hope the little ones get over it quick.

ps don't give vitamins or anything else while treating with corid.

Missy has laid egg number 48 this morning but the worrisome part is for the last 3 days she has laid an egg a day, I'm not kidding, yesterday she laid in the duck house no mistaking that egg from a duck egg, day before she laid in her stall, and this morning she laid in her stall. I always heard it was every other day they laid and that's the way it's been up until the last 3 days, anyone elses goose laying like this. They like to keep ya on your toes that's for sure.
