Awww, those photos remind me of the day I got Angus! The CraigsList ad said young male Toulouse.... Of course he was still young at 8 weeks, but he was HUGE. He was terrified in the cardboard box in the front passenger seat, so I pulled him into my lap for the drive home.
He snuggled against me with his head tucked between our bodies, very still. Which was good - I was driving!
But when we slowed down at signal lights, he got brave, too. He'd look over my shoulder, then lean out to look at .... Everything. Hot July day two years ago. Everybody's car windows were down. I got a LOT of looks from passersby, lemme tell ya.
Of course, Angus also crapped in my lap during that drive, but I knew I could shower and my clothes were washable. The snuggle had been worth it.

I can't believe that's the same goslings they are so big. I know what you mean about feathers. I just went out to check on everyone and it looked like part of my gander was laying on the ground where he had been standing a few minutes earlier.
Week 3 with Molly's babies was beastly hot. There's like...what? 4 pans for water in this one pic? I had resorted to using whatever could hold water to keep everyone stocked with fresh, cold H2O. And as you see, the babies grew so much during the week that there is no way all of them can fit into those blue litter pans at the same time. I swear that if I sit down somewhere near them I could hear them grow. They still show more African goosie traits than Toulouse.
They are able to easily get in and our of kiddie pools now. They were in one of the pink pools while Mom was in the adjoining one doing her bathing. Those pools are over by the chicken coop. I find with having ducks, geese and chickens, that having a few water/pool stations around helps them keep from fighting over them. And doesn't Molly look frightful? She's losing her wing feathers. It's kinda like having a teenager around: You can follow her movements around the yard by the feathers she's dropped.
do you mean when you candle?I was wondering at what age a touloses egg sac becomes noticable?
I'm confused. is there something hanging out side of your goose?Oh no, lol. I mean what the egg sits in just before its layed. The thing that hangs on the bottom of a goose.
