That's a real bummer. I'm so sorry. Mistakes happen, don't beat yourself up, just learn from it.

We found out a couple of years ago that the mother will put the babies in the water. My husband went out and found 3 of them in the water bucket, thankfully he found them before anything happened. After that they got a pan just deep enough to wash their faces in, and even then we put bricks in so the babies had something to get on.

My 8 hatched beginning on the afternoon of day 28 and were done by day 29. On day 30 they were out with their parents grazing and by their second week they were playing in a little pool of water we put out for them.
we have most of the goslings pipping day 28, but sometimes takes till 30 or 31 to get out

Geese, including goslings, are grazers. So they need a nice and plentiful grazing range. You can/should supplement with a good Waterfowl feed or Multi Flock Feed and, as they grow a bit, some treats. Mine love Romaine lettuce, water melon and corn on the cob. Be sparing with the corn though, it will fatten them pretty quick.

they have a good area to graze but was just wondering if they should have only a certain amount of protein as i heard to much can cause angel wing and such

Got the pen up. Now I just need to build the cover frame. My goslings will be here in a week.

You are in for such a treat when they get there. Be sure to spend as much time with them as you can without stressing them too much so that they will bond with you as much as they want. Make sure to have their food and water and shelter all in place so that they can just go in their pen and "unwind" for a while. If you use any treats when they are young use only something like Romaine Lettuce or a leafy green veggie (not spinach) and then only in small amounts at first.

Looking at your pen I would suggest making certain that nothing can dig under and get into them. Once they are grown they will be more able to fend for themselves but as goslings they are as vulnerable as newborn chicks or ducklings. Even when grown they will need a safe and secure shelter for overnight.

Oh, and don't forget pictures when they arrive. We are all suckers for pictures.
