Toulouse Geese Thread

None yet. I do think they're getting close though. Just from watching the way they're both acting. I still have no idea how many eggs she has.
Oh goodies I was worried something may have happened for the worst. Keep us updated!! My Toulouse is on day 4. Looong way to go.

I haven't went in her house because we didn't have them long enough to get her used to me before she decided to sit. But she let me have a glimpse (from a distance of course) and everything looked fine. But I forgot to mark my calendar on which day she actually started. So hoping for babies over the next 3-4days! I'm sure I'll bombard this thread with pictures when they get here!

Clmschke did your goose hatch her babies? Is she still sitting? Hope all is well!
YES to all! She's hatched out 5 babies.

OMG she's been driving me nuts! Not just Molly, but she's roped her elder kids into being her bodyguards. Albus and Adele are GOOD bodyguards.

This morning was the first time she's had them outside since they hatched... a couple of days ago. We've been trying to see how many she's had, and to get water to the critters. Each time we get close they start hissing and getting all frantic. Molly's whacked my arms pretty good over the last few days; I've got bruises to show for my efforts. It will take all 3 of us to get two of these babes from her, but I think we can handle it. Perhaps this weekend?

Bring shoes you don't mind getting nasty, perhaps a pair of oven mitts and a nice comfy box for your babies. If we team together, I can get all the adults out of there, get you two of them and clear out her nest.

Private message me and I'll give you my phone number.

Love the pictutes of your babys. I have 6 eggs in a home built incubator. I usually just eat the eggs but momma goose had metal poisoning so because of medication we could not eat eggs for 2 weeks after medication. So instead of tossing the eggs i decuded to try and hatch. I shined a ight threw them and four eggs i dont see much but two appear to be growing. Wish me luck!
I do have questions. When they hatch should i remove them to their next home made home. The bath tub...or leave them with others? Each of the eggs has a dufferent lay date so pipping would be several different days.

Clmschke thank you so much for the babies we adore them! At the moment their names are Bilbo and Jemima but that may change once they show that they are either a boy or girl! They snuggle up to my other baby Stella and its a pile of fluff!!

ok here a couple of pics of my babies. they are almost 4 weeks now and are as big as my adult ducks. they follow me everywhere and insist I pick them up each morning and give them a hug before I feed any of the other critters. they went for a first swim the other day (it was 80 degrees here). they had so much fun.

Very cute! I love seeing all of the babies! I haven't been on here to post for a long while. About 2 months ago a coyote stole my gander. I was so sad. I miss his good mornings squacks every day. Our goose that is left is not nearly as friendly. She stays a healthy distance and is not nearly as vocal to tell me what she wants. I was looking for hatching eggs and didn't find any, and then watched the feed store for babies, but had no luck there either. I might just rehome the goose and the duck and retreat from my waterfowl adventure.
