Toulouse Geese Thread

The geese were happy with the rain, then! Is that Sting by the fence? He´s thinking the grass looks a bit greener over there! ;)
I can imagine them all in that pool...like a merry-go-round!
Yes, Sting by the fence, Lydia standing in the center and Pauline in the pool. Sting longs for that range area which is their old range they shared with the ducks and chickens. It is actually small, about an acre. To the right is their new range of about two acres but he longs for the old one. Actually I think he wants to get over there and chase ducks like he used to do. They loved the rain, stood out in it and had a great time...that and the much cooler temps. Sting was funny though. He would hiss at the lightening and thunder like he could scare it away.

Geese just love their 'home', and usually want to get back to it, even after months and months.
In the pic, Lydia looks to have a band across her chest..is that right? Or is it just the light? ...is she the one with the white flights?

Yes, Lydia is the one with the white primary feathers. What appears to be a band across her chest is a trick of the light. Actually she is the plumpest of the three and that is a fold where her belly fat begins. She has 2 large folds of fat between her legs that cause her to sway from side to side as she walks. I suspect that, should she be the chosen one of the two girls, she will have plenty of cushion to protect and insulate her eggs as she sits.

Miss Lydia...if I did not know that your name is not your handle I would sincerely apologize. I just hope that next mating season I will have pictures of beautiful little goslings to share. May have to name one of them Brazil. Oh no, now I have that tune stuck in my head...Brazil, where hearts were entertaining June, we stood beneath an amber moon.....

No, my Miss Lydia will always be the one and only. Brazil would be a nice name for one of her goslings and Paulo if there is a gander in the hatch...now I am all excited about little goslings running around and it is probably at least 6-8 months before anything like that might happen. Patience has never been one of my virtues.
