Toulouse Geese Thread

I do the sample to the vet also. Just checked in January , no worms / parasites.
I added a tray of shell and also added layer pellets to their feed tray. I was feeding matsuri waterfowl pellets Thought it had everything . I also kept adding nutritional yeast just in case.
Still no egg today

Hi Miss Lydia, I do worm twice a year. The Spring before breeding and in Fall. This keep the geese in excellent condition for breeding and laying eggs...
Thanks @RURU and so good to see you!!

I had a chicken hen lay one of those soft shell the other day thankfully it came out whole. I laid off the calcium citrate this pass week because of the frigid temps so I'll be putting them all back on it starting tonight.

Hopefully she is just taking a small break and will be back to laying soon. I still haven't gotten an egg from my goose this is the longest she has ever waited to start laying. My Muscovy's too. other wise is she acting normal eating, grazing?

This weather has every one confused spring one day frigid the next. I am so glad spring is coming even if it is just on the calendar.
Thanks for the update.

We are having a break today , sun , 39degrees.
They are out and I managed to dump the ice out of the pool so now they are preening and happy.
Still no eggs but they both do the tail to the sky when I put the hose on them while filling pool. I think they are both girls even if they don't look alike.
I'm wondering though , the one thing I did change that might be a coincidence but.......
Usually if there's grass I don't supplement with greens but when it snows I purchase spring mix and they get a couple handfuls morning and night. Well ... the local fruit and veg store had a sale on romaine hearts and spring mix , apparently date expired, and they pitched it , to which I scarfed it up !!! Gold mine to me !!!!!

. Well that's when the no shell eggs arrived and then laying stopped. Wonder if I gave too much greens ?? They always have pellets , gravel, oyster shells, and a full bucket of water to dip their heads in available 24/7.
This is their goose house, it's temporary because I'm moving in a few months . It will have a porch and small overhang for getting out of the sun , rain and the eyes of hawks.
Please let me know what you think

Just to add , the goose house has a shelf , at the height of the bottom of the window , there is a divider for privacy under the shelf for nesting and they used it to lay 2 eggs but not now
