Just keep that up then, you'll find the females as they mature aren't near as friendly as the ganders which can be good to have a friendly gander but can also lead to problems once they sexually mature. Geese are wonderful birds but they def aren't the cuddly pet some look for. In the stickys at top of goose forum there is valuable info on geese that would be of great help to anyone starting out with them.. And the Book of Geese by Dave Holderread another excellent source.

We have 5 Toulouse and getting a pig on Sat. Any opinions will be awesome. Thank you

They are adorable, will the pig [baby or older] be in with the goslings? I think introductions should be done slowly so no one picks on the other maybe make a small penned in area for the pig so the gosling can meet and greet then go by what you observe as to when to let them all out together. You don't want a gang of goslings making a little piggy's life miserable when he just gets to his new home. The pig will be considered an outsider until accepeted..Please keep us updated.

No she is in her own and we will be getting a second hog, so she won't be lonely. And there name is Porky and Petunia!

I am a pig owner (we have a pet pig and meat pigs) as well as a duck/gosling owner, my pig has been hand raised and is a family pet lays on the couch rides in the car etc...he is social and loving but I would NEVER leave him un supervised or confined with or near birds even a goose pigs...even pet pigs are just that pigs they DO eat birds, frogs, snakes, mice, gophers, and pigs are also territorial use caution and patience with having a pig around other animal we did have a commercial pig eat a goose the leaned into his pen. And my pet pig has eaten pigeons that let their gaurd down

Were you ever able to get your goslings to come around. We are knew to geese and got a couple different kinds. The lady who had ours sold them for 4 dollars a piece. So could not pass that up. They were 2 weeks when we got them almost 3 now but are very scattered at times. They don’t follow either but had lots of human interaction. I tried getting them to follow but that turned into a disaster and we had to chase them down to get them back into the brooder which I know put us a few steps back! We’ve been doing the treats too.

It takes a lot of time and patience with geese but once you win their trust you got it.
