Toys for Chicks

I used the bottom 1/2" of a paper cup to give my girls some grit, and I realized that the top of the cup would be a fun toy! I put it in with my 3 day olds, and they went for it immediately. They peck at it, climb inside it, and every time I check on the brooder I find it in a new place, so they must drag or roll it around somehow.

At 5 days old now, they haven't discovered the fun potential of the little bell I put in there, they mostly get startled by it when it makes noise. They've started sitting on top of the 1"x3" roost in there, but not sleeping. They take naps with the snuggle monkey, and they snuggle under the feather duster at night.

I love these girls so much! They will be so spoiled...

I just added a toilet paper roll to the brooder (I split the ends to make a sort of stand so it doesn't roll at all). They've been using it to practice their roosting positions; very cute! Another great free toy.

Pancake it to smart for the mirror... well unless she is out and looking in a mirror that has me in it. Then she is like... how can you be in two places.
Fruit doesn't do it for her, she'll play a bit with bath tissue roll. Not big on the jingle bell. She does love her feather duster. I'll have to try a large hamster wheel.
Any more suggestions?

I like the idea of the hamster wheel. I'll have to get one of those. I haven't added any toys yet. I might throw a toilet paper roll in there today and see. My chicks don't really care for berries yet. They love mealworms and oatmeal though. ;)

I have about 20 older and 25 younger chicks that were all moved out together, and i have found it fun to take those fisher price plastic jungle gyms and let them stay in that. They are all so happy!! One of the golden sebrights just started crowing so he will hop on top of it and play king of the world! It is very fun for them and i also let the 1-2 week olds outside and leave a small cage on the ground beside you , and just sit there and they will crawl ALL over you and will be a lot friendlier in the long run. if you dont want to let your babies out clover flowers really catch their attention especially with my baby emus, pheasants, quail, or peacocks! They just go at it and it prevent them pecking at each other.:)

Chicken play

I've tried numerous toys
Mirror, teddy, large tube to run through, budgie hanging toys( bell, beads)
Ribbon, string pegs etc etc
And I've found as with most animals and children they enjoy playing more if you play too

So I spin the peg round on the cage bar , and they fight to spin it with their beaks
I ring the bell, they ring the bell
I drag the ribbon they chase it
