Tracking Costs

Ok, can I ask...why raise chicks, all the way to pullet age, and then sell? Is it at all profitable? We’ve bought sooo many pullets from people that ordered them from hatchery, still had their leg bands. And then we swooped in and bought them for $10. Seems like they did all the work and we got the deal. We were glad, but confused
I hatch for the freezer and the pullets get sold.... just can't put a perfectly good pullet in the freezer.
No it's not at all profitable, I use organic feed.
Nothing about homegrown organic poultry is profitable :barnie but they have a good life with one bad day

Well, they gotta go somewhere. If you hatch more than you need, you can either eat them or sell them.
