Tractor Supply Amerucanas

Last month I was in tractor supply and saw that they had Amerucanas. I was super excited because I have one Amerucana and she is a sweetheart. After joining this site and reading many posts, I’m guessing they are not Amerucanas as posted. They do all have gray legs and muffs (too young to tell if they have beards). Pictures from day of purchase. I’m hoping to at least get blue eggs. Has anyone purchased these in the past that can tell me what color eggs they got from them?

I got some wacky ones last year... She layed me beautiful light blue eggs. I think they should still lay color.

yes, that is EE--it looks like she has a pea comb, which is linked with the gene for blue/green eggs. She will probably lay green, maybe blue. very cute.

Frost blue, pale gray-teal, and sage/olive green.

Pea combs have nothing to do with egg color

The blues in this carton belong to the two hens above. Vanilla (Silver and gold hen) is the paper blue, while Bug (Amber and tan hen) is the greener shade.

True. It’s just been bred into a lot of blue-laying birds and breeds. So if you get a random mutt with a pea comb and/or muffs it’s reasonable to assume it may have the blue egg gene
