Deficiencies are highly unlikely because they are legally obligated to meet what is printed on the label.
If you sent a sample for testing at a lab they could verify the nutritional content and then you would have cause to bring suit, potentially a class action from a lot of us.

Much more likely is that this Youtuber is trying to generate clicks by making people scared for the health of their birds. It's a competitive field among the video people (that's how I think of them :p).
you are exactly right Rose! That is why I’m asking. I don’t trust some talking head looking for “likes” on his bull plopp channel.

Thanks Sue,I have Colombian Wyandottes. They have layer all winter before this year.
the only light difference is a motion activated light I hung off the coup thus fall. Egg production was already dropping before I added this light.
I saw a post This morning on YouTube that mentioned Dumor and Producers pride had deficiencies causing flocks to stop laying.
I know the folks on this site are passionate about their birds so if anyone knew if this was true you folks would.

Im just going to pay through the nose at my feed mill and buy thief food and see what happens.
thank you!!

Jay
I'm sorry that your feed mill is more expensive, mine is cheaper 😢I. Hope it works out for you!

Question for all the folk who talked about testing the feed for e.coli: where would you go to get it tested?
I had some deaths in my flock this past summer which I think may have been related to moldy food - but I couldn’t figure how to get it tested.

To prevent these types of issues, it might be a good idea to check the mill date on the bag of feed to make sure it is fresh when you buy it. As in less than 2 months. We also store it in airtight containers in a cool dry place.

Yes of course I do all that.
But I would still love to know how to get feed tested if I needed to.
The situation in the summer was weird and hopefully won’t get repeated, but at the time it would have been extremely helpful to have been able to test the feed.

I have read that they are having problems sourcing a couple of essential ingredients. And they are having a direct impact on egg production.
can you link where you read this? I buy my feed at tsc and not having issues..except one or two freeloaders.

`on Saturday after we had this conversation I did need to get feed.
like I said my local mill is a pain in the butt. ( they are not open when I need them) so I went back to tractor. looked to see what was available and chose to replace the Dumor with Nutrena. Nature wise. As I was loading my cart a young couple was eyeing up my pile of feed and we started talking. They are having the same issue…. Crazy but true… they don’t understand why their flock has stopped laying. I mentioned the YouTuber and our conversation on this site. They unloaded the cart full of Dumor layer and we’re going to make a feed switch as well. The timiming of me going to the stotr and talking to complete strangers is wild .. I know.. but it did happen.
im still not totally blaming the feed but I needed to try this experiment.

I will do my best to keep this forum posted.
