Tractor Supply Ducklings

No diseases - just not well taken care of while they're at the store. Not enough water given to them, or a big enough waterer.

I got two last year because they looked like they wouldn't make it, and I wanted to give them a chance. They didn't last the night.😭

But my replacements grew to be big beautiful quackers.

I bought four (one because she wasn’t looking too well), and I have a couple I’m hatching. I’m worried about mixing them.

I’ve never bought ducklings from TSC so I can’t help. When are your eggs due to hatch? Keep your new littles in a separate brooder for 2-5 days so you can observe them if your duckling are hatching in that period. If you have liquid b complex I’d be sure to offer these new duckling some along with your hatchling when they hatch. Hopefully they are all healthy and just need some TLC to get going.

They started hatching today actually. I have two already. They are still in the incubator though

How safe is it to get livestock from Tractor Supply? Anyone have any issues with disease, specifically in ducks?
No real issues with disease. The bigger problem is the care they get from the "team members".
I started off with chickens and ducks from TSC and they were all healthy. But they came from stores that had good animal husbandry.

I was impressed enough that I took a part time job with them last year to supplement my retirement. Unfortunately, only myself and one other employee actually had any experience raising chicks. There were many deaths related to negligence and a lack of basic compassion. Heck there was even outright abuse such as squishing chicks with the feed and water founts.

I complained to the HQ and was let go. So was the other experienced person. Still, the chicks come from reputable breeders. Just get them early before any littles suffer from the potential neglect.

Good luck.
