Tractor Supply Lied To Me!!!

Every time I go to our TSC, we end having an "education lesson" on what chickens they have in their brooders. This week it was a lesson on Easter Eggers and Silkies. Now when I come in they go "hey - look at these! What are they?". LOL

We have Dark Brahmas and Light Brahmas. Our rooster ' Jumper' is the most gentle rooster we have ever had. We love our girls. They don't lay eggs everyday, but around 3 a week. Hopefully you get to keep them. I hate that your first experience has been negative.

I hope you get to keep at least a few of them. GOOD LUCK!!

I am only about a year into the chicken world but I can say this...instant gratification is great but if you want a specific breed or gender you should order from a reputable hatchery. I didn't do a lot of research when I first placed an order and out of my 8 "hens" 6 turned out to be roosters. Like you I had spent many hours with them and couldn't imagine letting them go but I was able to find a local farm that had a "petting" zoo and where happy to take them. I did keep one roo that is now leash trained

but I will add that our chickens are treated more as pets rather than "livestock".

Good Luck:thumbsup
A rooster on a leash... I need to see. And furthermore must know how you taught him to go along with it!!!!!!

You do realize this thread is from 2011 and the poster you are quoting was last seen about a year ago?....

I'm usually the one helping the impulse buyers in TSC with their set ups at home and how to keep chicks alive because the TSC is clueless.
