Trader Joes & Other Grocery Store Egg Hatching Club - Are you a Member

Hiya everyone! My Whole Foods eggs are hatching as a part of the NYD hatchalong. I've got a webcam on them right now: http://ustream.tv/channel/peledreamsofrain if you want to watch them! Two are out and stomping around like drunken Godzilla, and the egg closest to the camera on the left is currently starting to zip.

Fun stuff!

Oh, those are TJ eggs!!! Awesome! i've been watching your stream on and off, hope more hatch!

Funny, my husband was at the TJ yesterday and he was talking to an employee who had just bought a house in Chatsworth. He and his wife are planning on chickens, so my hubby told him about their own eggs in the refrigerated section, LOL, he was amazed! Told him to check out BYC for instructions on making a 'bator n all :)

Pele --

Waaaaay cute. I love the live peeping sounds, too. Did they hatch in time to qualify for the NYD after-midnight contest? (My salmon faverolle hatchling won it last year....the TJ egg in the batch didn't hatch until 1:00 p.m. or so... But better late than never, eh?)

No, unfortunately the fluffiest one hatched at 11:30pm. Do'h! If only he wasn't in such a hurry.

Alrighty, shamelessly posting pics of my babies. I ended up with four, all the same color. They came from light brown eggs.

Adorable Pele! Congratulations!

Has everyone thats hatching store eggs taken pictures of there egg cartons. I called a store in hoodriver called Rosauers and the young man helping me went over to the nuatural foods section to check for free range or fertel eggs and said that he found some called Rock Island eggs. Has anyone seen these , I will have to go out of town to get them as there half an hour away but we have a local bus that goes there and back I beleave. So I am keeping my fingers crossed that he actually ment he found fertel eggs and not just organic or free range. Im very excited though. I have been wanting to join for a long long time.

Welcome to the thread Garilelle1976! Yes, I believe on this thread there have been several people who have hatched fertile eggs from Rock Island Farm. Here is a photo of their carton- it very clearly says "Fertile" .
Good Luck- and keep us posted of your incubation and hatch
!
