There is one more egg left (day 22) and I don't hold out much hope, but the broody is still possessive of it so maybe it's still ok. The five chicks are mostly light yellow with some faint black spots on a few and some faint shadowing around the eyes. It's so cool they have a real mom to keep warm under, especially considering these guys were destined for someone's omelette pan.

any idea of what kind of chicks these are? What color egg did they hatch from? I'm asking because I have one that looks just like yours , yellow with black dots and it came from a light brown egg.

I have one just like that too. It came from Delisha's own special blend of meat bird eggs. They are cornish/Rock/Wyandotte crosses. It is feathering out a very light cream. Also came from light brown eggs. 6 od 12 sahipped eggs hatched...3 yellowish and 3 black/yellow. There are a few weeks old now and one has barred rock coloring, 2 black, one is broken red laced and the other 2 are the cream color.

These are the possible parentage my chick could have come from. Keep in mind the egg was light brown so the mother was not a Leghorn and there wasn't a Leghorn Roo?!? This chick even has the breeder I got the eggs from baffled. Roosters include: Maran, Olive Egger, Barred Rock, SLW, EE, and a Sumatra. Hens include: Maran, EE, Barred Rock, SLW, Sumatra, RSL, leghorns, and NJ Giants.

any idea of what kind of chicks these are? What color egg did they hatch from? I'm asking because I have one that looks just like yours , yellow with black dots and it came from a light brown egg.

Mine were from white eggs. One has spots like yours and the rest are very light yellow with dabs of darker yellow here and there. It's hard to tell them apart.
