Thanks y'all for the help and pics. BTW it's my Buckeye hen that went broody when I went out to look yesterday. She is serious about this. I guess her seeing and hearing the chicks next to her got the better of her. lol

I think my Whole Foods pullet started laying today...at 17 weeks?! Seems rather early. My Trader Joes girls are 21 weeks and still not laying.

Dh got some brown eggs we are hoping to put under our broody. Can someone please look at the date and tell me how old or fresh they are.

The julian date on the carton is 021--That is January 21st so the eggs are 10 days old.

They should be fine!
