Tell me about it, mine are 8 weeks tomorrow! OMG! They spend their days outside, but the coop isn't ready and they have to go back into the rabbit cage at night. But the coop WILL be finished tomorrow, absolutely! 8 weeks really is WAY too old!

YAY!! Congrats on another TJ hatch club member! You ARE lucky to have a broody- very cool!Just bought my Trader Joes eggs today. I am going to let my broody bantum cochin hatch a few. This is my first time hatching chicks so I am a little nervous but super excited.
Well, you're lucky to have a broody! She'll do all the work for youGood luck, and let them warm up a bit or you might shock your broody out of it, LOL
YIPPEE- fingers crossed you'll get some babiesThank you!! I let them get to room temp and then gave her them this morning. fingers crossed
I don't know about the shocking her out of it. I have a California White Leghorn who has only verb laying for a month. About 5 days ago, she wouldn't get off the nest, and she's fussing at anyone looking at her. Since we collect the eggs daily she is only sitting on galf balls! Sunday I exchanged those golf balls for Ice Cubes as a way to "reset" her system. Not so much. 3 days later, and she's still on the nest;(
I hear we will be getting a trader joes on the Far North side of San Antonio soon. Since TJ's isn't here yet, I'm spent the day looking to friends and neighbors for mutt eggs...
