Tragedy related to nutrition?

It's made by Purina to TSC's specs, but not exactly the same product. If you compare the tags, the ingredients and nutrition levels differ.

I've never bought Dumor, but, who's label is better?

"Better" might be a matter of opinion, but Dumor claims more lysine, methionine, and calcium, and has "animal protein products" listed as an ingredient. (This was on a bag bought in August 2011, they may have changed the ingredients.) I have heard, but not verified that the animal product is porcine meat meal. So, I lean a bit toward the Dumor, even though, honestly, my hens laid about the same on both feeds.

of course, they're both least-cost formulations, so the exact ingredients can vary from batch to bath. Personally, I've just given up on bagged layer feed altogether, for a variety of reasons.

I just wanted to let you know I had the exact same experience. When I switched from grower to layer (with the large peas) they turned their beaks up at the peas... now that they are laying, they eat the peas first I think. None are left with the dredges at the bottom at the end of the day!

It has actual peas in it?

Yes - usually they are halved or quartered, not whole.

That address brings you to the Purina site. If you go to PMI Nutrition you get to the PMI site. Here is something I got off a blog from a watch dog group that deals with pet foods:
"I am very concerned as a result of some in-depth research I just did on a little-known brand of dry dog food called “Exclusive.” First of all, you can't let the ingredients listed on the bag fool you! This brand called "Exclusive" has a decent-sounding list of ingredients, and it includes a supposedly pure protein as the first ingredient and meat "meal" as the second ingredient. However, Exclusive is part of the product line of a company called "PMI Nutrition" who was owned by Purina Mills (associated with feed mills) and then sold to Mars, a huge conglomerate. It actually took some doing to find out the parent company, because this product line has a bad reputation. A quality pet food shouldn't hide their origins, and you cannot find the name Mars associated anywhere in the PMI or Exclusive Website!"

Maybe Purina kept the web address PMI because of Purina Mills International? This is confusing. I'm getting to the bottom of this. When our feed rep comes in next he's getting asked a bunch of questions. All I know is that when my ducks were being fed Purina Flock Raiser they got a niacin defieciency.

I feed my little flock Alaska Mill and Feed 20% protien layer pellets and every kitchen scrap imaginable. They get treated with corn and BOSS right before bed when the temp is going to drop at night. They only eat about a cup to 2 cups of pellets a day between 5 Orpingtons They are healthy, shiny birds that lay awesome hard shelled eggs. They get along with one another great considering the weather keeps them cooped up inside day after day after day. Chickens are omnivores and should be offered a little bit of everything. The pellets are really just a filler between scraps around here.

PMI makes Exclusive & Livestock feed NOT Purina Dog Chow or Purina One. They split years ago. Both are Purina Mills not Purina.

He may have meant Triple Crown horse feed I have never used it or purchased it. We talked quite a while about feed in general. He said the CHS nutrition brands were well liked also. We have a local place here called Union Mills and I have had poor results with their chicken feed.

and if your talking about Floyd Va. my dh and I was there back in 1999, loved the quaintness of it. We were camping on the Blue Ridge parkway, and drove into Floyd for groceries.
