tragic death yesterday....

I do understand your distress, it happened to me earlier this week. I lost a disabled pekin duck, to the fox I think. I still blame myself as it appears I was even at home when it happened, and my duck run is not twenty feet from the house. It was sited close deliberately to make it a bit safer for them. What I would say to you is don't act rashly while you obviously so distressed. Let the dust settle, spend some time this weekend with your ducks, and see if there is anything you can do to step up security. I have been giving the advice that flashing lights, as on dog collars, can keep predators away, who think it is another animal. Many people say the scent of male hormones, in urine, will keep many predators away, so a male dog weeing everywhere, or an obliging male even. You have my deepest sympathy for your loss.

I am so sorry to hear of your bad news.... I think most of us on this forum have had tragic experiences and the comments reflect the tragedy that we sometimes face...

Thinking of you

Suzie
