Trailer Coop Build (Pic heavy)

Pics
I looked at your last post twice and thought about it.

It is difficult to sort what I was looking at: I think it is the brooder is 1st section in from the person door/camera and under the triangular panel; section further away is for your three older birds (will have access to nests and all roosts)?

You have your butt in a frenzy, have done well!!!

Is it snowing?

If you make the plywood the ramp it will be dirty all the time. Too wide to reach across to scrape poop.

Your birds will face both ways on the roosts and dropping will go on the upper overhang of the plywood into "poop space".

[Not being critical, trying to help.]

Yes, that is correct.

This thing needs to be completed! LoL!! Thanks, it's been a lot of work, and minor injuries hahaha! I want to get my old girls in here asap!

Is it snowing?

Yes. The wind was blowing hard all night too. A little snow in the back of the trailer but not much. Not really enough to worry about...but I will. It must be coming in under the fascia or from the side without fascia. Nothing like last time!

I appreciate the advice. Steps made from 2x4s or 2x6s would be easy to make and less mess. I'll consider doing this when I remove the temp brooder area :)

Agrees.......and really, why so big!?
Tired of cutting plywood? :gig

While it is true that I am tired of cutting, cutting, cutting, cutting, and did I mention more cutting...LoL! It is the roof for the brooding area. Once I put it in, I realized how great it would work as a ramp.

I have some small bits of snow come into my coop, gone within a few hours.

@aart says the best time to integrate is early, 4 weeks in. If you have not seen this it is well worth the read.

I figured the temp brooder would last a month but I'll try this after a week. I only have 3 older girls, plus lots of escape space! Thank you and aart!

Ohhh....hmmmm....sorry might have missed that...not up to snuff today.
Will have to look again.

No worries, it's hard to get everything in the pics at good angles to make it easy to see.

After checking on it during windy squalls today I am confident it is coming in through the top of the door. I made a mistake (not putting trim on the wall above the door) on the door trim which is causes this. I can fix it pretty easily even though there isn't much snow, it's annoying and will bother me until I fix it :D :D

I thought the brooder area was at the far end(away from camera).

The far end (aka the front of the trailer) will be my future brooder space, underneath the double roost bars, it's actually perfect but seemed a bit small for my current 25. Since I also only have 3 older birds who don't need much space, I gave the chicks a lot more floor. In the future I plan to raise smaller broods of layer chicks, this group is larger to kickstart the flock, so to speak.

It's been a lot of "thinking work" trying to make sure things work as as easy for me and as great for the flock as possible!

There always seems to be something to adjust!
