Trailer Coop Build (Pic heavy)

Pics
Pip yesterday I found a vulnerability at a corner of my run. There is a short section where the 1/2" HC apron does not cover, a predator could easily dig under. Now if someone had asked I would have said I was critter proof.

As @ronott1 says there is always something to adjust. I am looking forward to seeing that coop full of birds!

haha I know, it's never perfect. The weather is bad again tonight which meant no painting the trim yet.

I managed to get both fascia pieces attached, which was a huge feat by myself! Let me tell you a 13ft piece of super flimsy fascia is a real PITA to put up alone.

Then I moved the trailer to a good spot for the next few weeks and setup fencing. I'll keep everyone enclosed in a temporary 15x20 area while the chicks need heat and I finish the rest of the setup.

It's crazy snowing outside today, I shouldn't have moved the coop! However, another chance to see if/where snow comes in. However, this is how I feel about the 6+" of snow I woke up to

Good Job!!
Can you still open those vent flaps?

Sometimes you can screw cleats in place to hold one end. BTDT.

Yes, I cut the fascia down to ~5" and they all open as far as I wanted without any issues. :)

I ended up doing two things: took some twine and tied it to the roof on one end, then made a loop with the other end (like a noose), slid the board through it, then cinched it down. It was a bit tricky and took too long, but worked. Then I took a few small nails and tacked the fascia up in 2 spots which allowed me to work on it without any other issues, even with the wind blowing the storm in.

If a neighbor would have been around or someone else nearby it would have taken all of 5 minutes. These little timing losses have really added up. I cannot believe I had myself convinced I could put this together in just over a weekend yet here I am 4 months later!!!

How did you cut it?

Sounds familiar. See my Coop Page for how I installed 16' pieces of HC alone.
Luckily I had help with the soffit pieces.

How did you cut it?

Two saw horses, a ladder, and a circular saw with a 40T blade. Set the fascia across the saw horses and through the ladder, then run the saw up to the first sawhorse, move the sawhorse behind me to where I had already cut, and continue running the saw forward. Once I reached the second sawhorse I moved the ladder behind me where I had already cut, and kept going.

Speed square makes running a pencil line at 5" a piece of cake, at least that was easy :D
