You have done very well with your ducks, sounds to me like they are two in a million.

I don't mean to be a downer but I do hope that you don't meet any duck-chomping dogs on the bus or the Tube. Sorry to be a busy-body but I also noticed that one of them has a bit of a sticky/mucky looking eye. What kind of access to water do they have?

I'm sure that your ducks are a big hit in your local area They are both very handsome.

I keep an eye out for dogs all the time and many people dont bring those dogs on buses because there too hard to handle. in the many times i have taken them on the bus i have never encountered one dog and even then they have me sitting next to them. they have acess to water all day but they dislike swimming. i dont know why but i just cant get them to swim so warmer days i take them out and wet them but otherwise the just get wet in their drinking water. and which one was it who has the sticky eye??

I totally understand what you have with your duckies! I wish I'd been the one who got to hatch Daisy but I got her a little bit later than that. She is my sidekick though. She goes everywhere with me,even gets into more places than my puppies & I take them just about anywhere. I have a backpack that she loves to ride in & she just loves people. She loves to sleep on my bed at night & cuddle up under the covers or watch tv. Car rides are one of her favorites especially when we go to see my folks. Haven't taken her on a train yet but I have some days off coming up,I just might take her to San Francisco!

Good luck and i love your duckie too i really want to get a back pack for mine because walking with them in my arms kills my arms :S

What pretty ducks! It's great that they love and trust you so much. I can't believe how well behaved they are. My little girl is way too energetic and squirmy to sit calmly on a train or a bus!

Thanks and Trust me mine can be very hyper which makes it hard but persistance and the word no has tought them if they listen and behave now they get to play and eat mealworms later

It's great that you haven't had any dog trouble. Dogs here are not so well behaved, unfortunately.

With the eye, I noticed it mainly in the one that you are holding on the magazine cover. What may be a bit of dried seepage coming out of the front (tear duct). But I'm only looking at pictures - you're able to see them up close every day so you will of course be a far better judge of their eye condition!

A few of my ducks are not interested in swimming either. They just like dunking their heads That's all they really need for eye and bill health though.

When you go on the bus and tube with them are you taking them somewhere in particular or are you all just going for an outing together? Do many people come up and start a conversation about them? The ducks are obviously pretty relaxed about it all. They don't even startle when the train arrives on the platform. I did think it was funny though that when you are sitting at the tube station and someone stops to speak to you the duck on your lap tells them to 'nick off' with his head movements. Made me laugh

What gorgeous boys you have!! It must get you alot of attention whenever you take them out.

I was laughing so hard at the footage of the duck on your head though...did you realise that in doing that - your drake is displaying dominance- as he would to a female duck? The grabbing at your hand too is characteristic of mating behaviour. Hope I didnt embarrass you too much with that one....but boys will be boys you know- and since you raised them they kind of see you as a duck too.

yh there pretty related about it all and that photo was taken a few months back. that was daffy when he wasnt walking and was ill but it has all cleared up not thanks and yh my day is a long interview and we just go out places and there dont seem to be any problems. there not scared of anything and allow anyone to come up and stroke them with no problem.

Yh they like to be the top boys but it seems to be a case of they want to but know they cant. were sort of on par which is usually a health bond. although the bites hurt i tell him off and he usually stops

Donald duck broke his toe this morning. what a silly duckie. ive just let him sit in cool water and made a cast out of plaster cloth and tape. others say it will fix itself but i want it to stay straight not heal crocked. Anyone have and pictures of their ducks!? post them here for me and donald to see and maybe cheer up

My Pekins I got as adults and they are very shy. My buff is soooo sweet! We play hide and seek ll the time! I run into the tall grasss and lay down while he waits on the driveway, then I call his name once and he quacks and runs and finds me!! The pekins are skittish but once you catch them they'll sit on u, preen you and love you. They are all leash trained as well. They have come on vacation, to shows, down to the lake to swim and have walked all around town! I know how u feel, my ducks are my babies!!!
