Training My LGD For Poultry

I have started socializing my LGD puppy with our hens. It was kind of stand offish at first but now they are becoming feed pan buddies. I thought you might like to see some pictures. ET

So fluffy! What breed is it? I seen two big dogs that look like that down the road with some goats.

His name is Bear. He is a Maremma/Pyrenees livestock guardian dog and is seven weeks old today. I hope to use him to guard free range poultry and goats in the future.

Bear is an awesome name! He's so cuddly and what a good boy behaving so nicely with the chickens. I want one!

Doing same here but about 4 months ahead. Watch out for missing feeders. Pup may become partial to hiding them. Mine does and he eats chicken feed as well making for interesting bowel habits.

Bear is already grabbing snacks out of the chicken feeder.
