Transitioning from roofed to roofless run

It’s awesome. My daytime predators are hawks and eagles. At night I lock my birds up in the coop like most and don’t worry about the fox and raccoon.

I lock mine up at night, too, but my raccoon patrols during daylight hours, too. I don’t want to take any chances.

I haven't laughed this hard in a long time!!! That is the BEST coop name I have ever heard. I laughed so hard that my 6-year-old came to see what was so funny, and now I'm having to dodge questions I'm DYING to paint something like that on the coop wall, and wondering if I can get away with "hey, I'm just trying to inject humor into the situation to diffuse neighbor tensions" if he complains to somebody. Would that fly?

Thanks! I just came up with it spur of the moment!! You could paint in on a large removable piece of cardboard and tape that to the top of those umbrellas! You earned it! LOL

The mesh on my garden is vinyl-coated metal... Vinyl seems like it would be pretty slippery too, right? Or at least not as grabby as fabric netting.

Vinyl coating might be better than bare metal......definitely better than fabric netting.
What I've seen here is if it's wet snow, or freeing rain, it's gonna start sticking.
Here that means getting out there and banging it off and adding a couple props (2x2"x8' jammed between mesh and ground) if there's going to be heavy overnight snow.
Course I live in a snow belt and have had my run almost collapse.

I made them last night after everybody went to bed. Didn’t realize I’d run out of frosting and didn’t feel like making new from scratch, so I decorated them with a paint brush and food coloring
