here’s a screen shot of a Facebook post.

My garden has similar netting on top, and this is what it looked like last week:

Snow was wet and clumpy and did not fall through the holes. Maybe it just depends on the type of snow... We get a lot of heavy wet snow here that sticks to everything and doesn't want to fall through.

Do you leave that up all winter?
I only put it up this past summer... Haven't had it through a winter yet. I was really hoping the snow would fall through, now I don't know what to think or do 😟 May need to keep an eye on it and go out to knock snow off if it piles up too high. At least now I'm working from home all day (and will be for the foreseeable future) and can keep an eye on it.

You need to buy netting that has squares that are approximately 2” across. It looks like your openings are a lot smaller than mine. I pick the bigger holes so the snow and sometimes even leaves fall through and it doesn’t give me issues.

Yeah, mine are hexagons and only the longest dimension is 2", so overall the holes are a bit smaller I guess. Doesn't matter though, I already have mesh for the chicken run and that's 2x3, big enough for snow to fall through. It's the garden I need to keep an eye on now.

Metal and 'fabric' mesh is going to act much differently.
Fabric netting is going to grab snow much more quickly than metal mesh.
The mesh on my garden is vinyl-coated metal... Vinyl seems like it would be pretty slippery too, right? Or at least not as grabby as fabric netting.
